The Impact of AI Art

Do you still need to hire the services of an Illustrator or Graphic Artist when you have Artificial Intelligence?

For the sake of simplicity, let's focus on the aesthetics or decorative aspects of creating artwork for now. And in this case, all without lifting a pencil?

Indeed, the reality of creating uniquely rendered images and other digital assets with customizable text or audio prompts is well within reach for anyone with an internet connection.

Now, focussing on how artificial intelligence is actually impacting the creative industry today. It is clear to see that there are a huge number of businesses appearing online offering some form of AI powered service.

Which is why, first and foremost, some creatives predict that AI will become a valuable tool for artists and creatives, helping them  generate new ideas and create new artwork more quickly and efficiently.

On the other hand, some fear that AI will replace human artists and creators, leading to unemployment and a decline in  human creativity.

Graphic Design & AI

In graphic design, AI is already being used to automate certain tasks, such as image resizing or color correction. However, the practice of using AI generated art is likely to be adopted as part of a creative workflow or process.

Fortunately, it’s unlikely that AI will be able to replace human graphic designers, who bring a unique combination of technical skills, creativity, and understanding of branding and marketing to their work.

Illustration and conceptualizing

In the field of illustration, AI algorithms can already generate simple drawings, but it’s unlikely that AI will be able to replace the unique vision and creativity of human artists any time soon. What do you think?

Photography and AI

Similarly, in the field of photography, AI is already being used to enhance photos. For example, our so far favorite, AI Image Editing software Luminar Neo helps by removing distracting elements, dust and other unwanted specs, improving lighting and color, replacing or removing image backgrounds or power lines.

However, the creative vision of human photographers is still in high demand, and it’s unlikely that AI will be able to replace human photographers in the near future.
